Wallis Annenberg PetSpace, a center dedicated to exploring and celebrating the animal-human bond, opened in 2017 in the community of Playa Vista near Venice Beach, Los Angeles.
The contemporary, light-filled building is a fully operational animal adoption center and, more than that, a pet-based community destination. It is a place that models best practice in the care of companion animals as well as a somewhere to simply drop in and enjoy being around companion animals.
At PetSpace children can explore a human hamster wheel, take a turn down a “habitrail” slide and stand close to immense moving sculptures of a dog, cat and hamster. Guests can see into spaces such as the animal surgery, grooming and rehab rooms, and can talk to the animal care experts at work.

The renovation of this existing arena in San Antonio, home to basketball, hockey, concerts, and rodeos, improves infrastructure, technology and energy efficiency. New concourses, restaurants and bars, an expanded shop and revamped suites all contribute to an improved fan experience.

The landmark Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, opened in 1981, was recently given a makeover which integrated the colors and themes of northern California into the interior design. The lighting scheme highlights these design elements while being energy efficient, maintenance friendly and budget conscious. Since most spaces are underground, a primary goal was to create light, bright spaces where convention-goers would feel comfortable spending an entire day. This was the first West Coast convention center to earn LEED Gold for existing buildings.

2014 GE Edison Award of Merit
Both interior and exterior were overhauled in this total restoration of a landmark 1920s theater in central San Francisco. Light sources were updated, restored and, in some cases, reproduced from archival photos and drawings in keeping with the Spanish Colonial style of the building. Originally a cinema, the theater is now home to traveling Broadway productions.

2000 IIDA International Award of Merit, IESNA
This permanent, year-round research station draws scientists from all over the world to the south pole in Antarctica. Between 50 and 200 occupants live in a setting where the sun is either continuously up or continuously down. Lighting had to be sensitive to circadian rythms and light color due to these extremes of light and dark. Energy efficiency was paramount as the station is completely self-sufficient in winter months; the number and type of fixtures was limited due to the stringent energy requirements.

This mixed-use complex was the first LEED Platinum project in Santa Barbara. A new market hall with food shops and cafes sits aside three dozen condos, all of which reside next to a landmark 1931 theater. High-end finishes and contemporary touches were designed to blend with Santa Barbara's historic spanish-style architecture.
